At DeCuzzi Fragrance, clean science is our approach to thoughtful formulation: selecting ingredients with a clear purpose, considering the available safety information and intended concentrations, and refining how we create.

It brings together the beauty of perfumery and the responsibility of making something people wear on their skin.

A Personal Beginning

After my father, Robert, was diagnosed with leukemia, our family began looking more closely at the products we used every day. His continuing cancer journey made those conversations even more personal.

As his son, I wanted to create something we could enjoy together—something that brought confidence, comfort, and a little everyday pleasure during a difficult time.

That search became a shared passion for fragrance, ingredients, and craftsmanship. It continues to shape the care we put into DeCuzzi Fragrance today.

What Clean Science Means to Us

Our standard starts with understanding what each ingredient brings to a formulation.

We consider its purpose, quality, concentration, and contribution to the finished fragrance. We choose both natural and synthetic materials deliberately, recognizing that an ingredient’s origin alone does not determine its safety or suitability.

Our fragrances are:

- Made without parabens, phthalates, or formaldehyde

- Vegan, with no animal-derived ingredients

- Cruelty-free

- Crafted with proprietary ingredients

- Handcrafted in New Jersey

We also recognize that fragrance ingredients, including natural materials, can cause sensitivities. Thoughtful formulation includes being honest about that.

Nature and Modern Perfumery, Working Together

Natural materials offer richness, texture, and complexity. Modern synthetics expand the perfumer’s palette, helping create distinctive scents with consistency and depth.

Selected synthetic materials can also replace animal-derived ingredients or reduce reliance on resource-intensive natural materials. We consider those benefits ingredient by ingredient, alongside quality and performance.

Every material has a job to do—whether it adds brightness, softens a blend, or helps a scent unfold beautifully over time.

Our work continues beyond the formula.

We develop and refine our fragrances carefully, paying attention to how each composition opens, evolves, and wears. Every bottle is filled, labeled, inspected, and finished by hand.

As a father-and-son business, we take that work personally. We share these fragrances with our family, our friends, and the community
